GUIDE
How to Calculate Working Days Between Two Dates
A basic working-day count includes weekdays and removes Saturdays and Sundays. Public holidays require a separate holiday calendar and are not automatically excluded by this calculator.
Quick formula
Count each calendar date in the selected range whose weekday is Monday through Friday. The current calculator includes both the start date and end date when they are weekdays.
Worked example
From Monday, August 3, 2026 through Friday, August 14, 2026, there are 10 weekdays when both endpoints are included. This example does not remove public holidays.
Practical tips
- Confirm whether your workplace counts both the start and end date.
- For payroll or project schedules, subtract official holidays separately if they matter.
- Use Date Difference Calculator when you need total calendar days instead of weekdays.
