How to Calculate Dropship Profit
Dropship revenue is not the same as profit. To estimate profit per order, subtract every cost tied to the sale from the selling price.
Quick formula
Platform fee = Selling price × Platform fee rate. Estimated profit = Selling price − Supplier cost − Platform fee − Other costs.
Worked example
For a Rp150,000 selling price, Rp95,000 supplier cost, 6% platform fee and Rp5,000 other costs, the platform fee is Rp9,000 and estimated profit is Rp41,000 per order.
Practical tips
- Use the real marketplace fee for the category you sell in.
- Include vouchers, advertising, packaging, shipping support and expected return/refund costs when they apply.
- Check profit per order before increasing sales volume; more orders do not fix a negative margin.
